I feel like I'll be preaching to the converted if I tell you all how fabulous Knitsch Yarn is. After all, it is one of New Zealand's best loved hand dyed yarn brands. So instead I'll briefly mention the things that make this yarn so special and for those of you that always wanted to try it, but haven't yet, I've designed a baby bonnet that uses just one 50g skein. See the free pattern below.
Knitsch Sock is 100% New Zealand Merino wool. There is no nylon as you would expect to see in a sock yarn because the extra strength is provided by the very high twist. This high twist also gives the added benefit of fantastic stitch definition and it's machine washable (so great for baby garments). All this and I haven't even started on the subject of colour! Knitsch is one of the most established hand dyed yarn brands in New Zealand and Tash from Knitsch is one of the most talented dyers. She has an intrinsic sense of colour that manages to be fashion forward and harmonious, exciting but not trashy. I always have some in my stash. For the pattern below, Hugs N Kisses bonnet, I have used Silver Lining which is an ever popular warm pale grey, (I think babies look adorable in a soft grey). It would look good in all sorts of colours though and I'm hoping to see some project pictures to prove it :)
