This year at Midwinter Woolfeast 2018, we’re going to share the love a little wider.
We will be collecting for the Women’s Refuge, so please bring a little extra or donate your change, and be a part of something bigger.
I have set up a fundraising page via Everydayhero with an initial goal of $500, so that you can all see what we’ve achieved. Can’t make it to Midwinter Woolfeast, or want to contribute straight away? Please feel free to make a donation at any time via the fundraising page.
The Christchurch Women's Refuge would also like donations of knitted/crocheted slippers for women and children over winter, so get those needles and hooks out as we will be collecting these at Midwinter Woolfeast too!
Womens Refuge is New Zealand’s leading agency in responding to and preventing domestic violence. They don’t just help women and children in crisis, they are also very active in education, advocacy and prevention. To learn more about all the good work they do, visit their website.
This year at Midwinter Woolfeast we will be collecting hand knit/crochet items for Christchurch Women’s Hospital. They need prem and newborn sized clothing of all kinds, hats, bootees, mittens, cardigans etc. Pure wool only please. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could gather a large box of hand made treasures to last them a wee while!? Let’s make them pretty too, so new mums are proud to dress their precious babies in them. Pretty doesn’t have to be complicated, just thoughtful. Thank you all for your help!
